EmeraldX is a centralized custodial exchange for Habbo Collectibles on Immutable zkEVM. Instead of settling every trade on-chain, EmeraldX maintains internal balances — you deposit once, then trade instantly with 0% trading fees during public beta. Withdrawals are signed out by platform custody and confirmed on-chain.
Every deposit credits an internal balance on the EmeraldX double-entry ledger. Trades settle inside EmeraldX against those balances — no per-trade on-chain call, no gas fee, no failed transactions. When you want your assets back on-chain, you sign a withdrawal request and EmeraldX custody broadcasts the transaction.
The double-entry ledger is the source of truth for every balance. Reserve reconciliation continuously verifies that total user balances never exceed on-chain reserves — see Custody for the full model.

On external on-chain marketplaces, every trade requires a wallet signature and a gas transaction. During high-activity mints or volatile markets, gas prices spike and transactions fail. EmeraldX removes both friction — trades settle in milliseconds against internal balances, with no gas and no failed transactions on every trade.
The tradeoff is custody: EmeraldX holds your assets and signs withdrawals on your behalf. We compensate for that with transparent custody (reserve reconciliation, no private keys in the database, isolated signers) and a fee wedge that's lower than the external marketplace fee stack.
