EmeraldX is a centralized custodial exchange for Habbo Collectibles on Immutable zkEVM. You deposit Habbo NFTs or currencies (USDC, IMX, ETH) once, then trade against internal balances instantly — no per-trade on-chain transaction, no gas, no failed trades. Withdrawals are signed by you and broadcast by EmeraldX custody.
Custodial means EmeraldX holds your assets on your behalf. When you deposit, the asset moves into an EmeraldX-controlled wallet and your internal balance is credited. When you trade, balances update inside EmeraldX — no on-chain transfer per trade. When you withdraw, you sign the request and EmeraldX custody broadcasts the on-chain transaction. The tradeoff vs. a non-custodial marketplace is that you depend on EmeraldX to honor withdrawals; the benefit is instant gas-free trades and no failed transactions during volatility.
Emerald Credits (xEME) are a 1:1 representation of Emerald NFTs by denomination. Convert an Emerald NFT and your xEME balance is credited at the denomination value of the NFT. Transfer xEME to other EmeraldX users instantly. Redeem xEME at any time to get the principal back minus a treasury fee. xEME lets you move Emerald value between accounts without on-chain NFT transfers.
Each EmeraldX user has a primary deposit wallet address. Transfer Habbo NFTs (ERC-721), USDC, IMX, or ETH from your own wallet to your deposit address. The incoming asset is detected automatically from the on-chain Transfer event and credited to your internal balance after block confirmations. One deposit address accepts any supported asset — cross-asset deliveries are credited in the detected asset. There is no EmeraldX deposit fee; you pay only the standard network gas to send the transaction.
Standard withdrawals are user-authorized via an EIP-712 signature from your wallet and execute immediately on the ledger — no operator approval needed. The custody signer then broadcasts the on-chain transaction. You pay the actual on-chain gas cost of the broadcast, capped at a USD ceiling; during public beta the operational fee component is zero. Internal transfers to other EmeraldX users work the same way: you sign to authorize, the recipient signs to accept, balances update instantly.
Three technical protections: (1) Private keys are stored in an isolated signer (MPC / KMS / HSM), not in the database — a database compromise cannot extract user funds. (2) Reserve reconciliation continuously verifies that total user balances never exceed on-chain reserves; if a deficit appears for any asset, trading is automatically paused. (3) Standard withdrawals are user-authorized via your wallet signature, not operator-gated — operators are only involved in emergency scenarios (disputes, fraud freezes, manual ledger adjustments). If the EmeraldX service is unavailable, trading pauses (you cannot submit or accept orders), but on-chain withdrawals remain user-authorized and pending requests continue to be broadcast. EmeraldX runs on Immutable zkEVM. IMX is the native gas token (not an ERC-20). ETH exists as bridged WETH. Supported Habbo NFT collections: Habbo Furni, Habbo Clothes, Habbo Pets, Habbo Tokens (which includes Emerald NFTs redeemable for xEME), and Habbo Addons.
